This remake of the classic slasher film which started it all never comes close to capturing the brilliance of the original. Rob Zombie directs, badly as usual, and there are several changes as Myers is now a classic potential serial killer with a horrible poor white trash background which provides justification for his psychopathic rampage. This is more like a serial killer flick as we learn about Myers' home life, the build up to his crime and then his time in a mental institution. He doesn't don the Michael Myers mask and coveralls until later, the last hour of the film is more closely based on Carpenter's original but they can't resist adding to the basic plot and every time they do it gets worse and worse.

Gore - some fast brutal murders, mostly stabbing or slashing, nothing particularly graphic
