Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan
Released - 1989
Genre - Horror
Director - Rob Hedden
Starring - Todd Caldecott, Tiffany Paulsen, Kane Hodder, Jensen Daggett
Jason is brought back to life in a highly improbable way once again and this time he leaves his familiar home territory behind. He stows away onboard a cruise ship full of teens which is bound for New York. He kills them in predictable fashion and, despite the name, the action doesn't reach the city until the last few minutes of the film. This is pretty awful stuff with some seriously terrible scenes. The script is weak, the acting is hammy, the murders are dull and the ending is absurd. Paramount sold the franchise after this flop and amazingly New Line managed to make another two sequels which were even worse than this.

Gore - there are loads of deaths but the murders are dull and there is very little gore
