This fifth outing in the Child's Play franchise featuring the murderous Chucky doll is just plain awful. The self-aware parody doesn't do much to reduce the cringe-worthy plot as Chucky (Dourif) and Tiffany (Tilly) are brought back to life by their kid, Glen/Glenda (Boyd). It's set in Hollywood and focusses on Jennifer Tilly who is trying to revive her flagging career. You get the usual blend of daft murder, corny one-liners, and comedy, but the horror element is completely absent. Tilly is very likeable and watchable, but she can't carry something this bad and no one else seems to be trying.
