The ideas are running thin by the time we reach the concluding part of what they describe as a trilogy. This time Sidney has withdrawn from the world and gets pulled back by a murky plot which concerns her mother and an experience she had in Hollywood. Most of the film takes place on the set of the movie Stab 3 and the self referential gimmick is getting tired. Again the surviving cast return and there is even a beyond the grave appearance for Randy but the new characters are not as engaging and the plot is ropy. Craven continues to provide scares successfully and the script is sharp and witty once more providing a few laughs but this is the weakest of the three films. High on action and low on gore there is still fun to be had here and the finale provides a nice resolution. Generally the more series are dragged on and tampered with the worse they get so I just hope they let this one rest in peace.
Gore - some stabbing and blood splatter but this series is about thrills and scares rather than gore
