Wrong Turn was released in 2003 and despite mixed reviews performed fairly well at the box office. It tells the story of a group of teens in backwoods West Virginia who fall foul of a family of inbred cannibal hillbillies and get picked off in a series of gory murders. While it's impossible to escape the feeling you've seen it all before, because you have, it is done well enough to make for an enjoyable throwaway blast of entertainment. Wrong Turn harks back to 70s and 80s survival slashers and it's unapologetic gory fun all the way which most horror fans will appreciate.
