An unlikeable young couple gets dropped on an isolated coral island for a romantic break. It soon becomes clear that they are not alone as they see footprints in the sand and then things are disturbed at their campsite. So far, so creepy, but the tension is destroyed by a combination of bad writing, creaky acting and dull direction. The dialogue is just horrible and the director misses the chance to play around with your expectations or surprise you. The couple prove themselves to be standard horror movie idiots and the botched resolution is a perplexing disaster. I hate it when movies like this claim to be "inspired by actual events". This is inspired by actual events in so far as I can believe a couple went to an isolated coral island once. It's a shame because it has the ingredients of a decent chiller, but it just doesn't come together.
