The Last Man on Earth

This is based on the 1954 novel I Am Legend by Richard Matheson and tells the tale of a strange airborne illness which turns the population into vampires. Once infected they can't go into the sunlight, they become afraid of mirrors, they are repulsed by garlic and of course they are compelled to bite any uninfected people they find. Dr. Robert Morgan (Vincent Price) is immune and we follow his adventures as he stakes vampires and searches for survivors by day and then barricades himself into his house at night. The vampires in the film behave more like zombies and you can definitely see echoes of this in Romero's Night of the Living Dead.
