This is another one of those "Based on a true story" ghost films which manages to combine elements of Poltergeist and The Amityville Horror. It is about a young teenager who has cancer and has to get treatment at a remote hospital. His mother moves with him to a suspiciously cheap old house and eventually the rest of the family follow suit. At first it seems the ill son is losing his mind but the mortuary equipment in the basement is only a hint of the darkness in the house. Before long they are all being haunted by a variety of ghostly apparitions and poltergeist style behaviour. This is a paint-by-numbers horror flick with a few fake scare jumps and some spooky ghosts. Despite a decent cast it manages to be really boring and needless to say the film makers took the "true story" as a rough starting point and then sped off cartwheeling into the land of nonsense.
