This is a monster movie with a heavy handed moral message. An evil logging company wants to chop down a forest and displace a tribe of Native Americans who are inexplicably still living in teepees. The evil logger's waste output pollutes the environment and somehow creates a weird looking bear-monster. It stalks around the forest killing people. This is played seriously but it is pure b-movie monster nonsense with a woefully miscast Armand Assante as the leader of the tribe and Robert Foxworth as the dashing eco-doctor. It is really slow and you have to wonder why the surprisingly good cast and accomplished director agreed to make it. If only evil corporations were really taken down by bear monsters.
