We open with teenage girl Needy (Amanda Seyfried) in a mental institution and what follows is a big long flashback. She had a highly unlikely friendship with Jennifer (Megan Fox) the local high school hottie and general slapper. Jennifer manages to get herself sacrificed by a wannabe indie band and ends up as a monster, literally a maneater. The film gets worse as it wears on towards a confused and badly written ending. It aims for some horror and some comedy but mostly misses the mark on both counts and ends up being pretty lacklustre. There are plenty of genre clichés and a subdued level of gore and eye candy. Ultimately the film focuses on the failing friendship between Needy and Jennifer. The writer insists this is a feminist work and certainly the main characters are female and the victims all male but the promoters obviously tried to sell it based on how hot Megan Fox is which may have undermined her intentions just a little. It does have that eighties slasher feel and I've seen worse but itís not very memorable.
