Heartstopper

Released - 2006
Genre - Horror
Director - Bob Keen
Starring - Meredith Henderson, Nathan Stephenson, James Binkley, Michael Cram, Robert Englund

The film kicks off with a psycho serial killer being electrocuted. Sheriff Berger (Robert Englund) takes the body to the hospital but they hit a young girl on the way and end up placing her in the back with the dead killer. Somehow the killer passes part of his tattoo onto the girl which links them and upon arrival at the morgue he wakes up and starts ripping out the hearts of everyone he meets. As he stalks around the dilapidated wards and corridors in search of the girl she enlists the help of another teen and a nurse and they attempt to survive the night. The opening is quite interesting but this soon turns into a standard slasher flick and the latter half of the movie has pacing problems as events seem to run out of steam. The characters are poor, the acting is ropy in places and the story gets increasingly daft as the film goes on.

Gore - there are loads of gory death scenes kicking off with the botched electrocution and then several violent heart removals which the killer somehow does Temple of Doom style with his bare hands
