There's a sadistic killer on the loose in Italy with a penchant for pretty girls. When a model goes missing her sister and a cop team up to try and track her down before she becomes the next victim. The direction by Argento is typically engaging and there are plenty of interesting sweeping shots, unfortunately the story is straightforward and predictable to the point of being boring. The real problem is Adrien Brody who sleepwalks his part as the mumbling cop and can hardly fail to make you laugh as the deformed killer (he looks like a Rambo caricature). The film adheres to the "Giallo" genre with some nasty murder scenes, scantily clad beauties and a sense of alienation, but you'd be better off watching Deep Red.
