A psychic feels the presence of a murderer in her audience during a conference and gets brutally murdered the same night. The pianist who lives upstairs witnesses the killing and begins to investigate with the help of a local reporter. The murders continue as the killer strives to stay in the dark. This film is pretty rough around the edges but Argento is a master of tension and it features some seriously creepy and unsettling murder scenes. It is quite slow and disjointed but the settings and characters are great and the plot threads come together beautifully in the end. The direction is typically compelling and if you haven't yet seen any Argento movies then this is a good place to start.
