Adapted from a Lovecraft story Dagon is about a couple who end up in a creepy and unwelcoming fishing village after a storm wrecks their yacht. Paul and his girlfriend Barbara head for the village seeking help, the captain of the yacht is trapped below deck and his wife decides to stay. When Paul gets back to the yacht they are both gone and worse when he returns to the village and reaches the hotel he finds his girlfriend is gone too. Turns out the villagers are all praying to Dagon a monstrous God of the sea and they've started to mutate, sprouting tentacles and the like. It may not be high octane stuff but I found this very entertaining with a foreboding atmosphere, good direction from Stuart Gordon, a decent cast and some nicely done effects with the odd bit of gruesome gore.
Monster - nasty mutated tentacle sprouting fish people
