All the Boys Love Mandy Lane

This is a modern slasher flick which provides an original twist on a very familiar premise. Mandy Lane is an attractive high school girl who agrees to go to a secluded ranch for a weekend party. The usual slasher characters - jock, nerd, stoner, slut are all to be found and as they get stuck into the booze, drugs and each other someone starts to pick them off one by one. Beautifully filmed, this mostly sticks to convention with brutal murders of the sinful obnoxious teens but there are some notable deviations from the genre norm which elevate it above your average slasher.

Gore - lots of blood, stabbings and a really nasty teeth smashing incident
