Anna (Christina Ricci) has a big argument with her boyfriend and then storms out to be killed in a car crash. She wakes up on the mortuary slab and the funeral director (Liam Neeson) gently explains she is dead. Understandably confused she struggles with this news and he explains that he has a gift that allows him to see dead people and that he likes to "ease their transition". So is he for real? Or is he a twisted serial killer? That's the mystery at play here and the film twists around and teases you all the way. The cast is good, especially Neeson, and the film is well made, if a little muddy and bleak.
