30 Days of Night

An Alaskan town enters a month of darkness and is quickly cut off from civilisation and besieged by a gang of vicious vampires. Hartnett plays the sheriff who leads the resistance but the vampires are formidable enemies and they aren't taking prisoners. His ex (Melissa George) provides some much needed support but can they survive the long night? This is a fresh take on the vampire movie and it features plenty of action, gore and extremely creepy inhuman vampires. The direction, visual fx and cast are all great and this is a very stylish and enjoyable film.

Gore - this is pretty gory stuff with loads of vamp biting and some chopping off of heads

Vampires - I loved the vampires in this film especially the guy who moves and looks like a shark, these are creepy vampires and they speak in an ancient language which is a nice touch
